How to get a lighted mirror on your iPhone
In a dim room, it can be hard to see your face with the front-facing camera. PocketMirror adds a bright border around the mirror, with adjustable color and width. Here is how to make it work for you.
1. Turn on contour lighting
Open PocketMirror and turn on the light from the mirror. Contour lighting uses your phone’s screen to light your face. Both the mirror and lighting are free, with no account required.
Hold the phone at a comfortable distance in front of you. Avoid a strong light directly behind you, which can make your face harder to see.
2. Choose a light color
Choose a color in the lighting settings to suit your surroundings and comfort.
When checking makeup colors, start with a light close to white, then check the result in the lighting where you are going. Colored light and the camera can affect how shades appear.
3. Adjust the border width
Change the width of the illuminated border in small steps while watching the mirror until you find a comfortable setting.

The illuminated border is useful for quick checks in low light. The result also depends on your camera, the phone’s distance and the light around you.
